In addition to writing my own books, I edit manuscripts for publishers who contract out editorial services and for writers who want a polished, professional work to submit for publication.
I can strengthen manuscripts at any stage of the editorial process, from first draft to final galley. My feedback includes making corrections on the manuscript itself and writing pages of detailed comments, explanations, and suggestions for revision.
For all manuscripts, I do both global and line-by-line editing. I note the overall effectiveness of the manuscript’s concepts, organization, and presentation of ideas. I also ensure that every sentence, word, and mark of punctuation is correct and appropriate for conveying the author’s message.
When requested, I teach writers how to format their manuscript for acceptance by publishers, find publishing houses seeking the type of work they’re marketing, and even compose a cover letter that will pique publishers’ interest.
Over the years, I have edited books on these topics
or literary genre:
Non Fiction
autobiography/biography
business
child development
communication
education
history
metaphysics
motivation
psychology
religion/spirituality
science
self-help
young adult
